About Shared Medium:
Shared Medium is a vibrant arts organization dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of the Pacific Northwest. We are best known for producing the annual Gigantic Bicycle Festival, a celebrated music and arts festival that attracts thousands of attendees. In addition to our flagship event, we produce a variety of music, art, and film events and special projects throughout the region, nationally and abroad.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Events Sponsorship Manager to join our team. This role is essential for securing and managing sponsorships, developing strategic partnerships, and driving fundraising efforts to support our diverse array of programs and events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, a proven track record in sponsorship and development, and exceptional communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sponsorship Acquisition:
- Identify, approach, and secure sponsorships for the Gigantic Bicycle Festival and other Shared Medium events.
- Develop and present tailored sponsorship proposals to potential partners.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective sponsors.
2. Partnership Development:
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships with businesses, foundations, and community organizations.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to create sponsorship packages that align with our events and organizational goals.
3. Fundraising Strategy:
- Design and implement innovative fundraising strategies and campaigns to support Shared Medium's programs and initiatives.
4. Grant Writing and Reporting:
- Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with Shared Medium's mission and programs.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals and reports to funders.
5. Event Coordination:
- Work closely with the event planning team to ensure sponsors' and partners' needs are met during events.
- Oversee sponsor activation and engagement during events to maximize their exposure and value.
6. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage sponsorship and development budgets.
- Track and report on sponsorship revenue and expenditures.
7. Community Engagement:
- Represent Shared Medium at community and networking events to enhance our visibility and build relationships.
- Foster a positive and collaborative environment within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Arts Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sponsorship, development, or a similar role, preferably within the arts or event management sectors.
- Demonstrated success in securing sponsorships and managing donor relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling proposals and presentations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Passion for the arts and a deep understanding of the Pacific Northwest cultural landscape.
