HISTORY
LIV Golf launched in 2022 as an eight-event Invitational Series with tournaments across the U.S., Europe and Asia. 2023 saw the first official season of the LIV Golf League, establishing the sport’s first professional golf teams captained by many of the game’s most decorated superstars competing in 14 events around the world.
The format respects golf’s history and traditions with updates for modern-day sports fans; three days, 54 holes, no cut, shotgun start, and simultaneous team and individual competitions, offering a faster tournament that drives engaging storylines and offers an immersive fan experience. The League’s award-winning events, each wholly owned and operated by LIV Golf and broadcast to over 500 million homes worldwide, showcase world-class competition within a family-friendly environment. Music entertainment, live concerts and a festival-style atmosphere play a signature role with LIV Golf, a two-time winner of the World’s Best Golf Event from the World Golf Awards and a Sports Business Awards Finalist for Sports Event of the Year.
LIV Golf continues to expand its reach by bringing the League to new and returning markets featuring some of the most iconic venues in the world. ROLE OBJECTIVE
The Coordinator, Event Communications will support advance and onsite media operations for league events by developing media information resources, managing the media credentialing process and building relationships with key stakeholders and global media members.
Responsibilities
Support Director, Tournament Media Operations with the following:
- Advance and onsite media center operations at LIV Golf events
- Liaise with local tournament teams on media schedules and other key information
- Travel to select events (domestic and international) to support onsite media
- Management of media registration portal (livgolfmediacredentials.com)
- Create and distribute resource documents to support onsite and remote coverage of league events
- Oversee onsite media registration process
- Educate media on league guidelines and regulations
- Develop relationships with global media and serve as a point of contact for event logistics including travel arrangements, scheduling needs and special requests
- Coordinate onsite PR support teams and vendors inside event media centers
- Distribute content gathered by internal photo, video teams and editorial staff
- Information and updates to online Media Hub (livgolfmedia.com)
- Create media distribution lists and manage media inboxes
Other Duties Include
- Assist Communications team in developing and implementing a communications strategy designed to further company objectives
- Special projects or other duties as needed
Experience
- 2+ years in a communications or similar role, preferably in the sports industry
- Proven self-starter with excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Outstanding organization and decision-making skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with stakeholders in different time zones (including nights and weekends)
- Develop strong working relationships across all levels of the business
- Advanced-level Microsoft Office and website management platforms (Wix.com)
- Experience with media list management platforms (MailChimp/Meltwater/etc.) preferred
- Golf knowledge a plus
