Job Summary
Under direction,oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of film and music initiatives within the City of San Antonio's Department of Arts & Culture. Develops and manages program operations, workflows, and systems to support the growth and visibility of the local film and music sectors. Provides leadership to staff and partners to ensure high-quality delivery of services, effective community engagement, and alignment with strategic goals. May exercise supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Supports the Film Commissioner and Music Program Manager in implementation of the Department of Arts & Culture's film and music strategic plans and initiatives.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to film and music programs, responding to routine customer service calls and emails.
- Develops and executes programs as part of the Department's music efforts to include the Local Music Spotlight Program.
- Manages the film permit process including review of insurance documents to ensure compliance with requirements, coordinating approvals with multiple City departments, community outreach and information dissemination.
- Manages production resources and locations database; solicits submissions and assists with inquiries; maintains documentation of leads and accurate client records.
- Oversees film festival funding program, ensuring contract compliance.
- Conduct location scouts with production personnel including research, organize and arrange for all requests regarding hotels, location appointments, etc.
- Coordinates, develops and leads all aspects of the Performing Arts, Film & Music Committee meetings, including drafting agendas, creating PowerPoint slides, capturing meeting minutes, and presenting to the Committee.
- Supports film and music marketing and communications efforts including the production and management of web and social media content.
- Assist in planning, coordination and representing the San Antonio Film Commission at marketing events, conferences, trade events and festivals. This regular requires travel, evening and weekend commitments.
- Serves as the financial point of contact assisting with program budgets, billing, and resource management.
- Prepares reports, summaries, and presentations on program performance, plans, and projections.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in program or policy analysis, development, and/or management, to include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Four (4) years of experience in a support service role.
- Experience working in professional film and music industries, including production processes, licensing/permitting, and community engagement.
- Experience with planning and coordinating events such as trade shows, meetings, and networking events.
- Experience withcoordinating and conducting site visits and location scouting procedures for venues, attractions, and facilities.
- Experience in database management, professional presentations, and status reporting.
- Experience with billing, accounting systems and financial auditing.
- Experience with graphic design, photography, videography and editing.
- Master's Degree

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
