Job description
About Bee’s Houzz
Bee’s Houzz Music Festival & Events is a purpose-driven event production company based in Southern California. We are the creators of the Bees Trees & Water (BTW) Festival — an eco-conscious, community-centered music and arts camping festival launching in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico in November 2025. Our mission is to build unforgettable experiences that celebrate sustainability, creativity, music, and community — all while giving back to the planet. We operate with a startup mentality: hands-on, collaborative, and fueled by passion. We’re expanding our hive and inviting motivated individuals to join us in building something truly special from the ground up!
About The Role
We are seeking a Festival Operations Intern to join our growing team. This is an on-site internship at local events near Huntington Beach, CA, and most importantly, our festival in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico in November 2025. However, there is the opportunity for a remote position, if appropriately proposed in an interview with our team.
As part of the Festival Operations team, you'll play a key role in bringing our events to life—from setting up and breaking down stages and equipment to ensuring clean, safe, and organized event grounds. You'll assist with trash and recycling sorting, general site maintenance, and support logistical coordination across teams. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, as you'll help align efforts between production, vendors, and volunteers to keep everything running smoothly before, during, and after the event.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in stage and equipment setup and takedown
- Support event site preparation and post cleanup
- Manage waste sorting: trash, recycling, and compost
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of festival grounds throughout the event
- Follow timelines and direction from operations leads
- Communicate effectively with team members via radio or in person
- Respond to on-site needs or emergencies promptly and professionally
- If remote, propositions would be considered in an interview with our team
Qualifications
- Strong interest in Festival Operations, Business Development, Events and Festivals, or Communication
- Excellent communication skills — verbal, written, and interpersonal
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once in an effective manner
- Self-starter mindset, able to work with a team while meeting deadlines
- Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in any field
- Bonus points if you love music festivals, live events, community-building, or sustainability!
This is an unpaid internship, but offers:
- Qualification for college credit (we will gladly work with your college/university internship program)
- Hands-on experience working directly with founders and leadership
- Opportunities for future advancement into leadership or paid roles as the festival and company grow
- Career mentorship, professional skill-building, and a letter of recommendation after successful completion
- A front-row seat to building a music festival and event production company from scratch and free ticket to those who are an intern at our festivals
