Gulf Coast High School in beautiful Naples, FL is conducting a search for their next Director of Bands, effective immediately. The GCH Band program has been consistently achieving at the highest levels in our State and look to continue that trajectory with the new Director. GCH is a proud member of the Collier County Public Schools, an A-rated school district in Southwest Florida, with robust school and district supports for music education.
The GCH Band program has been regularly rated Superior at District and State assessments, and has performed in numerous high profile events such as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers half time show, the Miami Dolphins half time show, the Edison Festival of Lights Parade, the Chicago Magnificent Mile Light Parade, the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Washington DC Cherry Blossom Parade, the New York City St. Patricks Day Parade, Disneys Magic Kingdom Dreams Come True Parade, the Universals Studios Macys Christmas Parade, and most recently, the Boston St. Patricks Day Parade. In 2015, the Gulf Coast High School Shark Marching Band performed at the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. In April of 2018 the Shark band marched in The Fiesta Flambeau Light Parade in San Antonio Texas. In November 2019 the Shark band marched in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade for the 2nd time. The Gulf Coast High School Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, Symphonic, Concert, and Jazz Bands receive top ratings in FBA MPA events year after year. In 2013 & 2017 & 2019, the Gulf Coast Band won the coveted Otto Kraashaur Award. In coordination with the very successful Orchestra/Chorus program across the hall, the GCH Symphony Orchestra received superior ratings from the FOA State Concert Orchestra MPA this spring, 2025.
As of the position posting, the teaching schedule includes multiple concert band classes, jazz band and auxiliary units. FL DOE Music certification required.
