Job Description
As an Operations Strategist for Balsam Brands, your job will be to help manage day-to-day warehouse operations and order processing tasks for our businesses, as well as assist in various other operations related tasks and projects like warehouse and shipping invoice reviews, identifying and onboarding new shipping partners, and preparing analysis of costs and shipping metrics to look for efficiencies. You will gain a thorough understanding of parcel and freight shipping, including costs, carrier requirements, and carrier options, and seek to find ways to minimize costs while maintaining an optimal customer experience.
The Operations Strategist will prepare various reports for management that will improve visibility of operational challenges, identify opportunities to optimize order processing, inventory allocation, and inventory management. You will collaborate across geographies with team members in Ireland and Manila, and report warehouse and shipping metrics to stakeholders. You will also collaborate with cross functional partners to support any marketplace, PR, and special projects. In addition, you will jump in to help our team, improve our capabilities and handle challenges by gathering and providing data in a resourceful manner.
This role reports to the Director of Operations and is expected to work in a hybrid work model, which currently includes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in-office.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor supply chain and financial metrics to optimize the costs and experience of shipping to customer
- Review weekly invoices from shipping and warehouse partners and prepare summary report to be shared with the team. Identify any errors or areas for potential savings. Work toward becoming the Operations team expert on our parcel shipping costs.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership to improve visibility of costs, operational challenges, identify opportunities to optimize order processing, inventory allocation, and inventory management.
- Complete analysis of shipping costs under various scenarios to evaluate cost saving opportunities
- Work with warehouses to facilitate the movement of orders and inventory and coordinate with shipping carriers
- Partner with supply chain, customer service, internal cross-functional partners and external vendors making process improvements and solving operational challenges
- Collaborate with remote teams across geographies using a variety of technology
- Identify and onboard new shipping carriers or other operations partners as needed
- Become an expert in various operational processes including communicating effectively with warehouses and shipping partners and supporting all order processing tasks.
What You Bring To The Table
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, and/or Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in operations or other relevant role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated history of teamwork, including a willingness to jump in to help accomplish tasks
- Strong analytical skills
- Inquisitive mind and analytical approach to solving problems
- A sharp eye for the detail
- Self-starter with a can-do attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ability to learn software programs.

The base pay range for this position is: $65,000 to $81,000. Where an individual falls within that range will vary based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on candidate qualifications and experience, applicable skills, and other job-related factors. We benchmark our pay ranges against current external data sources and regularly review compensation for our team members.
