What You’ll Do
Sales & Guest Engagement
- Proactively drive private event and group sales—from first contact to final cheers
- Build lasting relationships with local organizations, businesses, and fans of the brand
- Tailor proposals and experiences to match each client’s vision and budget
- Be the face of Smuttynose events—welcoming, thoughtful, and always a step ahead
Event Planning & Production
- Plan and execute a diverse range of events, from casual backyard hangs to full-scale beer festivals
- Coordinate all logistics: vendors, permits, staffing, A/V, food & beverage
- Ensure smooth operations on event day with hands-on leadership and keen attention to detail
- Communicate clearly with all departments through detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
Programming & Community Activation
- Schedule and host weekly public events like live music, movie nights, game tournaments, and themed parties
- Source talent and partners who bring the right energy and elevate guest experience
- Collaborate with marketing to hype it up and get the word out
Festival & Large-Scale Event Leadership
- Design and deliver seasonal festivals that make waves on the New Hampshire Seacoast
- Own the process—from budgeting and branding to operations and execution
- Keep safety, permits, and local relationships front of mind while dialing up the fun
Restaurant + Taproom Coordination
- Work alongside the FOH and BOH teams to align food and beer offerings with event themes
- Support restaurant flow and service quality during high-traffic events
- Find creative ways to boost F&B revenue with every activation
Marketing Support & Promotion
- Feed marketing with the content and storylines they need to generate buzz
- Tap into social, email, local press, and word-of-mouth to fill the house
- Track and share key wins that show the value and impact of your events
Performance & Feedback
- Review every event with a critical eye—what worked, what didn’t, what’s next
- Track guest satisfaction, revenue goals, and key takeaways
- Use data and feedback to level up your next big idea
Who You Are
- 2+ years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or related sales roles
- Personable, organized, and unflappable under pressure
- A true people-person who thrives on teamwork, storytelling, and building experiences
- Sales-minded with the confidence to pitch, close, and wow
- Able to work nights, weekends, and the occasional long-haul day for festivals and special events
- Bonus: Experience in the craft beer world or restaurant management
